Should I BE a Coach, or GET a Coach?

Ever wondered if you’ve “got it together enough” to be a coach? I mean, when deep down we are a frikin’ mess, how can we hope to help another?

I have a secret strategy that’s saved me time and time again. I use it (constantly) because life keeps inviting (? challenging) me to step forward.

There’s always something that needs attention.

Right now my list of ‘improvements’ looks like addressing:

  • My inherited habit of… worrying when it’s all going to fall apart
  • My ambitions that… unnecessarily turn on my adrenals
  • The cultural voice I’ve internalized that encourages me to… constantly search for ways to be more productive

Addressing each problem like a room to renovate in the fixer-upper that is ‘me’.

Many self development processes are based on this same approach. Identifying all the shames, traumas and inner dynamics that need fixing… then working through them one by one.

This approach has its merits. But when it’s our primary approach and fuel for changing… it can become crippling.

Constantly searching for what needs to be fixed.

Constantly crippled by what’s not enough.

Constantly sooooo muuuuuuch fuuuurther to go.

This approach can suck the magic right out of any goal, desire, relationship or situation. So I use a different approach.

It’s a less conventional (but far more embodied) strategy that’s concerned with…

Being fueled by where I want to go.

Right now, I want to feel slow, with sprinkles of exulted. I want creativity to enliven me, to enjoy the simple rhythm of mundane pleasures.

Spending time cultivating this slow, exulted states is a path to growth that doesn’t require me to fix anything. Instead, it asks me to decide how I want to feel and to cultivate that state now.

Not waiting until we’ve overcome old dynamics. Not waiting until we’ve fixed all our ‘stuff’.

Just allowing, in the now, our deepest desires to be our fuel.

The beauty of this second path is that you might still (& always be) a little bit broken…

But you can FEEL how you want to feel, NOW.

Going straight there – into your desires to embody & live them sooner rather than later…

Yesterday when I had some space to feel and introspect…

❌ I didn’t make a list of everything that needs fixing and start searching for answers

✅ I did spend 30 mins moving my body in the direction of my desire

If I can open myself to 10% more of what I want to feel, that’s a FUEL and a JOY that can sustain me in ways that fixing my broken parts can’t.

So the question today = Where are you putting your time/energy?

Hiding behind more healing and finding more dynamics that need optimizing?

OR

Stepping boldly into your brilliance?

Supporting ourselves & our clients to step into who we want to be NOW, coupled with the deep work of vulnerable meeting our edges along the way.

If you’re tired of treating your growth like a checklist (and treating your clients the same) then we’d love to chat with you about more pleasure-fuelled embodied ways of coaching.

After graduating FECC I feel super confident in applying the Feminine Embodiment Coaching tools.

I had been coaching before and the FECC approach gives my work so much more depth and allows me to activate my body’s wisdom.

The personal mastery stream supported me in gaining more access to what I want to bring into this world. I’m also deeply motivated to get going! Thank you, Jenna and team for this wonderful and profound program.
